this painting depicts a freshwater pond ecosystem teeming with life.
Three purple dragonflies monitor the starry skies as a fish jumps from the water to catch a mayfly. Cattails, reeds, lily pads and water lilies grow. A blue frog sits on the largest lily pad hoping to catch one of the flies. Below the water, a curious turtle peers at the surface while tadpoles explore the weeds beside her.
